Jeffrey R. Hanes joined Nora & Partners, LLP as an experienced associate in 2010. He concentrates his practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on defending medical malpractice claims.  He has extensive experience in representing physicians, physician groups, hospitals and other healthcare providers in a variety of medical specialties.  In addition to his active practice defending claims of professional negligence, Mr. Hanes has successfully represented clients in personal injury actions, premises liability claims, municipal insurance defense, commercial transportation claims and non-commercial auto claims.  Mr. Hanes is intimately involved in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit investigations to presenting arguments before the Illinois Appellate Court.  He has obtained numerous favorable verdicts at trial as the lead attorney and successfully represented clients in over 100 arbitrations.

Mr. Hanes is admitted to the State Bar of Illinois, as well as the Federal District for the Northern District of Illinois.  He is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association.  He is also an active arbitrator whereby he assists litigants in resolving disputes across various areas of law including complex personal injury matters, real property claims and breach of contract and employment issues.

Born in Naperville, Illinois, Mr. Hanes attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology.  Thereafter, he earned his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating cum laude.  While in law school, Mr. Hanes served as Lead Articles Editor on Law Review and was awarded Best Brief in the Annual Moot Court Competition.
